I couldn’t agree more. I never listen to the radio anymore. Waste of time. I have bought and compiled all my faces onto my iPod, even though I don’t love the sound quality of MP3s. (I use a high nitrate, so the loss isn’t as bad.)

When will the FM and XM DJs figure out that they have a huge, unserviced group of people that could boost their listening audience by a factor of ten?

Sorry for the co-rant, but I’ve felt this way for years. Thanks for the post.

Was with Norm, Joe, Gene Lynn, Joe Jackson for about 4 yrs. All great musicians. Also played with Tommie Flint in the ’60′s also 4 yrs at Blakes Tavern on east Washington st. Dick Blake worked with the Hubert Long Agency in Nashville so we all a chance to work with all the country music greats. On their road shows just about all the artists/bands would stop by and pay Blakes a visit. (sometimes for days at a time) LOL. Have not returned to Indy for 12 yrs. Have many great memories.
I Feel lucky to have run across this on the internet very interesting.

Cal,We could be brothers. Enjoyed site and have been playing out for years ! We were playing a gig that when we started,club was empty.After a few weeks place was packed. I went to club owner and asked for a raise since we brought all these people in .He replied he would like to but they”Were only drinking beer”.I asked “what were they drinking when they weren’t here”? We ended up playing 6 night a week for about 6 years. Will get your book! Carlton
